My Story
I spent my first four years of adulthood working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Culture with a focus on design at Arizona State University. This degree was an interdisciplinary, multimedia experience that combined art, media, and engineering concepts with graphic design. These courses allowed me to specialize in hybrid (physical and digital) product and space design as well as the historical and theoretical aspects of design. This degree empowered me to create out-of-the-box designs, such as the FABfiber tools still available today, and explore design

concepts in a way that traditional graphic design classes wouldn't.
After graduation, I discovered the somewhat hidden career of research administration where I've spent the last five years honing my communication skills while assisting faculty with grant applications. Through this, I've learned the value of teamwork, global communication, and effective time management with multiple competing deadlines. While working in this field, I learned about technical communication and how it applies creative and practical concepts of graphic design, technical editing and writing, content strategy, usability, and more to workplace communication. A light bulb shined brightly above my head as I realized how I could combine my skills. However, I still had more to learn—so I enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication program at my alma mater. This portfolio demonstrates the culmination of my experience throughout the B.S. in Technical Communication program and my career in research administration.
Looking toward the future, I'd love to combine my unique background of skills and experiences to help grow your business, refine your communication materials, and strategize for the future.
My Design Ethos

While I spent my early childhood years in rural Washington state, the bustling metropolitan area of Phoenix is where I call home. The landscape of the Sonoran Desert inspires me—everything exists for a purpose and each element contributes to the ecosystem. I weave this inspiration into every piece.
I believe that all design, no matter the medium, should be clear, concise, accessible and beautiful. The first three allow the message to be effectively communicated and the fourth
provides a visually pleasing aesthetic to carry the message and increase engagement. I aim to combine these factors into everything that I create and strive to amplify these concepts.
Outside of my career, I'm an avid visual and fiber artist. I love photographing the nature that exists around me and using the experience to provide my brain with a different environment to solve creative problems. I crochet, embroider, and weave tapestries that incorporate a variety of textures, colors, and forms. The slow pace inherent in these crafts creates space for me to reflect deeply while creating something beautiful.
