Tempe Yarn and Fiber is a brick-and-mortar fiber art store located in Tempe, Arizona providing the community with quality fiber materials since 2006. While the store’s interior is impeccably organized and well-stocked with information, in-store navigation, and services, their website was insufficient in terms of usability and overall design aesthetic. This project aimed to conduct a usability test of the Tempe Yarn and Fiber website to determine where usability issues exist and recommend improvements to resolve these issues.

The test goals, task scenarios, and evaluation guidelines were determined before conducting the test. An orientation script was drafted to ensure each participant received the same information. Task notes and test instructions were noted to ensure all necessary information was gathered. Finally, post-usability test survey questions were drafted. The final report established the testing method, discussed the demographics of the participants, presented the findings, and discussed three recommendations for aligning the website with user needs.
