The "Working with ASUF" sitelet is a collection of webpages on Arizona State University’s (ASU's) Research Administration website that describes the processes for working with the ASU Foundation. The sitelet includes important announcements, frequently used acronyms, roles and responsibilities of different team members, and specific notes for pre-award and post-award individuals. Through discussion with end-users at Arizona State University, it was clear that the information in its current state is not intuitive, easy to find, or aligned with current policies. These problematic areas became the editing and design goals for reimagining this document.

The first step was to remove unnecessary content and “chunk” (i.e., breaking content down into small paragraphs to increase visual white space and increase short-term retention of material) the remaining content to enhance scanning. This was important for users to find information quickly while meeting deadlines. Graphics were revised for clarity. Screenshots, data, links, and other areas were updated to reflect current needs. At the request of the client, a new Post-Submission page was also created with information previously spread across the sitelet. The result is a complete transformation of the sitelet with graphical treatments that align with Arizona State University marketing standards, industry standards for technical communication, and enhanced wayfinding for users.
